Brandon v2.0
We shot Brandon Seabolt for his first birthday last year- he kept us on our feet then as he learned how to run before he could walk. His second birthday portrait session had the same feel, on our feet, on the move, but still great fun. I guess Brandon will always be Brandon - we’re definitely looking forward to seeing him at three. It is always nice to see the kids change and grow.

Jada
We always get bombarded with family and child photo projects during the holiday season. We have to turn down most due to scheduling conflicts, but it is always a pleasure working with great kids. Jada Hoopii was a prime example, plenty of energy, and plenty of fun. Happy Holidays to the Hoopii clan.

Our very own ICx
We photographed the ICx branch in Honolulu for LD Design Group. Some serious secret spy stuff goes on here. They were actually really nice and hospitable, maybe thanks to the zen atmosphere created by Lynnsey.

High on 909
We were contracted to shoot a sales unit for an un-named Korean Investment firm at 909 Kapiolani in the day and night. All units were designed by LD Design Group. This one offered spectacular views from its lofty angle both a.m and p.m. I spent the whole day there through the sunset. It was hard to leave, seriously wanted to spend the night.

Ono ono Umeke
The ponzu barbecue sauce on the meatloaf sandwich at Umeke market is pretty killer. Add the crispy bread and you have the makings of a gastronomically superior afternoon repast…. er, yeah. This image was shot for Umeke’s latest lunchtime promo. I really have a soft spot for food - it goes hand in hand with the soft spot around my midline.

In light of my recent lapse…
So we have been busy. Our little girl, Lucia Belen Solis, was born in September. She was hale, healthy and hollered loudly on exit. Quite exciting. Here are a few pics of her at 3 weeks old.

Micah
O.K. So we would never admit it in person, we sometimes shoot pets. But only for really, really good friends (you know who you are), and for really great, great pets (Micah knows who he is). It really is a dreamy kinda job to work with animals. I can’t figure out why I am always so ambivalent to projects like these. P.S. we still laugh when we find the random golden hairball behind some furniture - Micah Yano, your memory lives on..

Letters Pressed Again
Design Logix released its second edition of Mozaic Paper branded letter press cards. The first distributed through online sale or hanai connection, this one will be available through limited higher-end boutiques in Honolulu… did I mention soha?

Night at the Museum
We were contracted to cover Bishop Museum’s Fundraiser where they honored Roy Yamaguchi and David Hulihee. Danny Kaleikini was MC, and the food was provided by all of Oahu’s best restaurants. Here is just a few pics which do not do justice to the huge night that Bishop Museum hosted. If you haven’t already donated this year. Please do so. Every little bit counts…

In the Hot Seat
We were given fifteen minutes to photograph Dr. Michal Carbonne for CURE Magazine, a national cancer research publication. Even under tight deadlines and shooting in a tight research lab as a backdrop, we got our publishable shots - all that, with little said about Dr. Carbonne’s swarthy good looks and Euro appeal. All in all the shoot was done in just over 7 min. Let me know what you think of the sample…

Private H.K.
These are a few pics from a catered event at a private Hawaii Kai residence. We were contracted by Humanhand to shoot food shots and portraits of the chef and owner of a soon to be renamed and rebranded catering subsidiary of a well-known local eatery - whew! More to come on this. Links to new website, etc…. Lots of love from deep in H.K…. P.S. The waves were sick at Paiko’s that evening.

The Andreas
We shot some photos with Andrea Wilson-Ignacio and Andrea Messer - championship paddlers, both probably stronger and in better shape than you and I. The rainy weather hasn’t made beachy shoots like this very easy, but we all hung in there and pulled off a few good shots anyway.

Feb 16, 6:16 p.m.

We were contracted by Design Logix to photograph the sunset from Hilton Hawaiian Village’s Rooftop Lanai. The image will be used to market Hilton’s new Waikiki Starlight Luau featuring entertainment by Tihati’s.
Carb Loading
We shot a number of Ba-Le Bakeshop’s baked goods (granola, cookies, lavosh, biscotti, etc.) for their upcoming website redesign by Humanhand. Most of the goods were quite yummy - too hard to shoot without nibbling a little. I’ll repost a link to the site when it is done.

Noir Couture
We shot fashiony lifestyle stuff for Lynn Jean Jewelry earlier this month with model Christina. We tried to capture a darker evening personality for the jewelry instead of simpler product shots. I will post a link to LJ site when I get it.

The Little Station that Could
We shot pics of Sabrina during her one-hour Monday Night Live set at KTUH. It was no LA studio but the broadcast and recording sounded awesome. Much respect due. P.S Mahalo Yogurtland for the glycemic fix. A few pics of the show here… all of them here.

Letters Pressed
We photographed this set of three letterpress cards for Design Logix (soon to be rebranded as Mozaic). The cards feature illustrations of hawaiian flowers that wrap to the backs of the cards. This project was a collaboration with Mozaics product division Mozaic Paper and uber-printers Electric Pencil. Look for them soon on Etsy.

Soooo Hungry!
We shot around twenty dishes for Elite Catering’s website redesign… on an empty stomach. Bad, bad idea. Visit the site to see the rest of our images. Later in the week we also shot an event catered by them in Kaneohe to get some live action shots of food prep and service for the site. Was sure to go on a full stomach this time. The website was redesigned by Design Logix and launched this past August.

Hokua Cool
We photographed this condo unit for interior designer Cindi White Designs in the Hokua building on like the 198th floor or something. The view was spectacular-Ala Moana, looking straight down at courts and concessions. By the way, Cindi is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I would post her phone # here if I could so you could call her and just say hey thanks for being great… but I won’t. Check out the view in some of the photos below…

Secret Liason
We were contracted by AVS in Virginia to photograph their newly installed audio visual system in MARFORPAC. Thats Marine Forces Pacific Command Center for the un-enlisted. When the really big things go down, this is where they go down. Yes, we were frisked pretty hard on the way in, and our cameras, lights, etc. were given a good once over. Oh yeah, no cell phones allowed anywhere ever never. Of all the shots we took that day around fourteen were declassified enough to get to the client. Here is a peek at a few, see more at AVS website…

Very Cool Kailua Nights
Since I live in Kailua, its my favorite place to work. We were contracted by Danielle of Soiree Events to photograph her Cool Kailua Nights this month. Music, booths galore, great food, perfect weather - ideal atmosphere. Great job Danielle. KCN 2009 is scheduled for October… see you there. A few pics of the constant stage activity…

HCF at KWP. Shhhh!
We shot these images for the Hawaii Community Foundation for the cover of their Scholarship Seekers Guide for 2008. Kakaako Waterfront Park is a great place to shoot, no doubt. It was made obvious by the 5 or so other photo shoots that were going on that random Tuesday in the park. If you already know about this spot, don’t tell anybody else. Well, anybody you would think to tell probably already shoots there anyway.
